Off to New York

Photo from The Forks in Winnipeg.

It's minus 16 (C) right now, with winds from the NW at 47 k. per hour, and it's snowing. I hope the planes are flying tomorrow morning, becuase I'M READY. Bags are packed, more or less. Jeans, cords, and one decent pair of trousers. Jackets and scarves. Comfortable boots and shoes - what will the weather be like in New York? I've been there when it's colder than Winnipeg, but also it can be spring. Anyhow, i'm ready. The big task is all the electronics - wires and gadgets - they drive me crazy. But you need a camera, right? And a net book, right? and a reader? and a i pod? And all the wires to keep the batteries going for 10 days. How did we survive with out computers???

Will meet up with Ardith Toogood in the Toronto Airport. Hopefully. You should see my calendar. Every minute of every day - i hope i can do it all.

Very excited about the National Council of Women of Canada's Round Table - Caylee Hong will be an excellent presenter, as will Rashmi. Mary Lou Donnelly is the president of the Canadian Teacher's Federation - she will know a lot about the topic - Educating Girls in Canada. And Alexis Allan, Chair of the Advisory Committee on the Status of Women for Nova Scotia, and the President of the N.S. Teacher's Union. They will have a lot to share.

Just got an invite to the FAFIA reception. And the Canadian Mission breakfast. And the ICW under the auspices of the Republic of Korea. Lots to do. Will be good to connect with old friends and new. Stay tuned for more updates.
